SIR – It was heartening to read Peter Brown’s letter from Derby giving his first-hand account of the response shown in the High Street, Worcester, at the two-minute silence on November 11.
No doubt part of this increased feeling was a result of the death of Worcester’s own Pte Jason Williams, who was killed in Afghanistan on August 8.
We must never forget all those who have given their lives since the so-called war to end all wars.
