SIR - I read in utter disbelief the comments made by Tory MP Peter Luff. He says "British firms are losing out to their Indian rivals because workers here are not prepared to work hard enough".
Utter nonsense, Mr Luff. It can't be anything to do with the fact that labour is cheap in India?
What a typical comment from a Conservative. No doubt Mr Luff would have us all working an 80- hour week and have us being paid £1 per hour. This is typical from a political party that refused to introduce the minimum wage. Just as a matter of interest, what do you earn in your job, and how many weeks holiday do you get Mr Luff? I imagine it's a damn sight more than the average working man. Please God we don't let fools like Peter Luff and his cronies back into Government.
GRAHAM SCAIFE,
Malvern.
