SIR - Mike Layland and Keith Burton appear to be the only councillors prepared to speak out against the closure of Bilford Road tip and the preposterous amount of or money to revamp the site. As they rightly state, spending £750,000 is false economy when what we really need is an alternate site away from residential areas and sited perhaps on an industrial site. It is utter madness to spend money on an outdated and small tip that cannot be made larger.
