SIR – Can I say what an excellent event the Star Fest peace event, organised by Stanley Road School, was this year.
People of all faiths and backgrounds gathered in the historic picture-perfect setting of Fort Royal Park. It really brought joy to all who participated.
The readings from the young children were particularly poignant as they reflected on the problems of our world today. They envisaged a world without wars, pollution and injustice. If only we, as adults, can reflect and ponder on the same ideals as these innocent children, even for a moment or two, perhaps we can make the community we live in a better and more peaceful one.
Well done to all the children and Stanley Road School for enlightening us with their words of wisdom and peace without prejudice, bias or any sense of partisanship.
