SIR - The recent story about the knife amnesty in the Worcester News stated that shadow police minister Nick Herbert proposed tougher penalties for knife carrying, which this Government opposed.
What is wrong with this Government - have they no sense at all? Why are they opposing a stricter punishment for knife carrying yobs? Is it because they suggested it? There should be a stop and search law and anyone found in possession of a knife slung into jail.
