SIR - I was pleased to read of D E Margrett's return to Italy after 60 years and that he enjoyed it so much.
I have known many men who fought in the Second World War, and have often been enthralled and amused by their tales.
I would like to thank him and his kind for the sacrifices they made so people like myself can enjoy a life of self-determination and relative freedom. I hope that through the endeavours of Age Concern he is able to enjoy other holidays - he deserves it.
