SIR - Geoff Hoon, one of Tony Blair's Labour ministers, is recommending that the European dimension, specifically the relevance of the EU, is introduced as part of the schools' National Curriculum.
Although this is clearly political propaganda, which is banned by the Education Act of 1996, Conservative MEPs have got on the bandwagon to announce in their view that it is a very good idea.
I really think it would be best if the history and relevance of the United Kingdom was actually taught in schools rather than brainwashing children with a subject that no one other than politicians living it up in Brussels think is of importance.
