SIR – Jon Burgess (Worcester News, February 22) claims there are benefits from hunting but fails to tell us what they are.

He goes on to show that he has fallen for the media hype that portrays animal rights people as terrorists, while also telling us it goes unreported.

It gets desperate when science has to be invoked, again minus any detail, to justify cruelty, and huntspeople often contradict themselves in their conservation claims.

Nothing can justify the cowardly hunting to death of one small animal with quantities of people, horses and dogs which is basically, as Oscar Wilde said, “the unspeakable in pursuit of the uneatable”.
