SIR – Again Mr [Jon] Burgess tells us facts about fox hunting (Worcester News, June 17).
This is the man who believes hare coursing is okay and killing an animal that is not a pest but a gentle herbivore and a pleasure to watch is acceptable.
Why is a fox a pest that needs to be controlled?
I have yet to see packs of foxes killing cats in our streets as promised by the hunting lobby.
Further, Mr Burgess says that the hound is a natural predator of the fox. What absolute rubbish.
The hound is a dog trained to hunt the fox. It is not a wild animal that pre-dates the fox.
If you are going to quote facts, at least get them right Mr Burgess.
The problem with writing about this so-called sport is that it then gets a long reply, full of incorrect so-called facts.
