SIR – The parking problems of Boughton Close in St John’s, Worcester, have emphasised the normal concerns of many residents in other streets.
But Cynic-al on the Worcester News website (worcesternews.co.uk) is quite correct in saying that unless there is a residents’ only scheme, anyone has the right to park there.
A householder does not have a right to park outside his/her own house.
jb, also writing on the Worcester News website, says that with no residents’ only scheme, a request for a regular patrol from the parking attendants could keep those who park illegally on the pavement, particularly those blocking pedestrian access and drives, under control.
The residents of St George’s Square in Barbourne are a typical example of the problem.
They pay the highest rating level, yet because they have no residents’ only scheme, all and sundry use the square as a car park.
