SIR – Dad’s Army, even now, is getting repeats, and what is more, still getting laughs after all these years.
’Allo, ’Allo, It Ain’t Half Hot Mum, Hi-De-Hi! and others have graced our small screens for many years.
Sadly, the writer, David Croft, died peacefully in his sleep recently at his home in Portugal Why is it that few modern writers seem able to compile the same clean, family, comical entertainment as David did? Let us hope that there are such people, or we’ll be stuck with Dad’s Army for ever.
