Sir – Re ‘Why we were right to ditch disabled parking’ (Worcester News, September 27).
In the article it was reported that Councillor Simon Geraghty said the reason that Worcestershire County Council, in its capacity as the highways authority, did not consult disabled groups about the proposal [to remove disabled parking bays in Worcester City centre and replace them with a taxi rank] was because officers were not aware there were any.
Coun Geraghty is the leader of Worcester City Council and he is the deputy leader of Worcestershire County Council.
As county councillor, he represents the city centre.
Wearing all of these hats, he has no awareness of any disabled groups. That just about says it all, really.
