Sir – I think my recent column on the two major consultations running locally in the Worcester News (September 22) may not have explained them well enough.

The public meetings on the proposals to alter Parliamentary boundaries in the West Midlands are being organised by the Boundary Commission for England and will be held in Birmingham (November 3-4), Ludlow (November 7-8), Warwick (November 10-11) and Stafford (November 14-15). They have, very regrettably, not organised any meetings for Herefordshire or Worcestershire.

The other consultation is on the South Worcestershire Development Plan – the one that determines where houses will be built and employment land allocated.

It is the subject of much more local consultation by the three district councils of south Worcestershire.

The exhibitions and meetings in many towns and villages run from then end of September right through to mid-November.

Full details are available from the website swdevelopmentplan.org.

I strongly encourage people to participate in both, but when it comes to Parliamentary boundaries, it may be easiest for people to study the proposals online and then make written submissions.
