SIR – Wouldn’t it be great if the Olympic torch’s route from Malvern to Worcester could be along the A449 footpath (a proposed cycle path too) all the way via the historic Powick Bridge and the new award-winning Diglis Bridge? This would mean tidying up that footpath beside the A449 and surfacing the short section from Halfway House to Hawthorn Lane. So we should start soon.
The finished track will be a great long-term benefit to sustainable transport.
