SIR – I am amazed at the outcry that yourselves and the public pour out about Worcester having higher prices for fuel than most of the country (Worcester News, December 16).

We live in a capitalist country where the big will exploit the small to the maximum.

Big fuel companies don’t care what you pay as long as you pay as much as you can to maximise their profits.

Once you stop paying the prices they will reduce them.

It is called the elasticity of demand. Stretch them until just before they break.

There’s only one way to reduce prices and that is to stop buying.
