SIR – During 2011 the RSPCA Worcester and Mid- Worcestershire branch has been celebrating its 100th anniversary. I would like to thank all our volunteers and those who have supported us throughout the year.
We launched our centenary appeal in 2010 to raise funds to build our own animal rescue and rehoming centre.
We are pleased to say that with funds raised so far we have been able to purchase a suitable property near Worcester.
The appeal is continuing in order to raise enough money to build the kennels, pens and other animal accommodation on site.
We have a long way to go before we achieve our objectives but we cannot do this without the help of people from our branch area, which includes Malvern, Pershore, Droitwich, Bromsgrove, Redditch and Henley-in-Arden.
Happy new year, and a big thank you from all the grateful animals in our care.

Honorary branch secretary
