SIR – Re ‘At the end of the day, horses are horses’ (Worcester News, March 22).

It is indeed fortunate for George [Cowley] that we are not able to put a saddle on him, ride him round the Cheltenham racecourse at high speed, beat the sweat out of him until he has the audacity to fall and break a leg and then shoot him.

Obviously, George is a man with no pity for the plight of the most loyal and magnificent of God’s creatures!
