SIR – Having read the guest column by Harriett Baldwin MP (Worcester News, June 14) regarding her views on the EU, I must point out a couple of things.

Firstly, her party leader and Prime Minister David Cameron has said that the British people do not require a referendum on Europe.

Yet in a poll in the Daily Express 80 per cent said they wanted to get out of the EU and said they wanted a referendum now and not at the next election.

Secondly, it is a known fact that that this nation’s exports that travel through Rotterdam to the rest of the world are classed as EU – which is not true.

I believe she is trying some sort of smoke and mirrors or perhaps let’s say she has got her facts completely wrong.

She and two other Worcestershire MPs – Robin Walker and Peter Luff – never did answer my question as to why £50 million a day is poured into the EU when this nation is broke (Worcester News, April 25).
