SIR – You reported that Lucy Phelps, a local woman, is to have a leading role in a new musical about the Spice Girls to be performed in a London West End theatre (Worcester News, September 27).
This is great news. Lucy was seen recently in BBC’s New Tricks.
She is one of a number of ex-WODYS who are doing well in the professional theatre. Their rise in the theatrical world is testament to the musical and theatrical skills learned during their time in WODYS.
Hopefully there will be some current members rehearsing our July 2013 production of Copacabana who will progress to the professional stage too.
