SIX people involved with a clamping firm which operated in Worcester appeared in court charged with making unwarranted demands for cash with menaces.

Simon Barry, aged 36, of Lilac Close, Evesham; Christopher Cartwright, 30, of Salisbury Drive, Kidder-minster; Lloyd Isherwood, 37, of Groveley Lane, Birmingham; Andrew Minshull, 37, of Hatfield Close, Redditch; Faisal Qadeer, 33, of Mount Pleasant, Redditch and Debbie Worton, 41, of Hatfield Close, Redditch, did not enter pleas when they appeared at Redditch Magistrates Court yesterday.

They spoke only to confirm their names, dates of births and addresses when they appeared side by side at the back of court.

They all worked for Midland Parking Contracts (MPC), now known as iWatch Security Services.

The alleged offences were carried out between January 1, 2006, and May 1, 2009, and it is alleged some of them took place in Worcester.

The precise charge read that they acted “to gain for themselves or another, or with contempt to cause loss for another, conspired with other persons to make unwarranted demands of money with menaces”.

The case was adjourned until Monday, December 6, at Worcester Crown Court.

All were bailed on the condition they attended the next court hearing and were not involved in any parking control measures.
