Police are still looking to formally identify a man stabbed to death on a busy north London street and have appealed for dash-cam footage to help catch the killer.
Metropolitan Police said the incident, which appeared to be caught on CCTV in Upper Street, Islington, on Monday evening, resulted in the death of a man, believed to be in his 30s.
The stabbing was witnessed by several members of the public, including a young girl.
Moments later a man is seen fleeing from the scene.
It is not known how he is connected with the incident, if at all.
Detective Chief Inspector Dave Whellams, said: “This was a brutal attack that was carried out on a busy street in broad daylight.
“I am asking anyone who saw the assault or has any information to contact detectives.
“In particular we would like to hear from anyone who was driving in the area around this time and has dash-cam footage.
“Your information could be vital in helping us find out why a young man lost his life.”
It came as police named a victim involved in a fatal stabbing in Barking, east London, on Thursday last week.
The 23-year-old, Abdulrahman Nassor Juma, was known to his friends as Mani, Scotland Yard said.
Anyone with information about either stabbing is asked to contact police.
