SINGERS from Bromsgrove and Redditch joined thousands of fellow Rock Choir members from across the UK at the Liverpool Echo Arena recently to perform in their biggest and most fabulous show to date, ‘Rock Choir Live’.

Rock Choir leader Christa Hugo said it was the biggest choir ever to perform at the arena.

She added: “One of the best things about Rock Choir is we get to sing at some amazing local shows such as our recent performances at Sanders Park and the Redditch bandstand, and with more than 16,000 members across the UK we can enjoy these huge events too.

“Rock Choir is the most popular contemporary choir in the UK, and that’s because it welcomes everyone. There are no auditions and you don’t need to read music.”

On the day, Rock Choir also raised £2,879 for one of its affiliated charities, Missing People. Rock Choir uses as many of its performances as possible to raise money and awareness for charity - in 2012 it helped raise over £1 million. Representatives from Missing People were there at the arena to thank choir members for their support.

Rock Choir rehearses during term time at All Saints Church Hall on Burcot Lane in Bromsgrove on Tuesday evenings and Studley Sports Centre on Wednesdays.

A free taster session is being offered in September. To book, and for more details, see www.rockchoir.com or call 01252 714276.
