WAGGING tails and walking boots were the order of the day for an annual fundraising walk in aid of Acorns Children's Hospice on Sunday.

Every breed of dog from Jack Russells and cockapoos to German shepherds, pugs and bulldogs lined up to take part in the annual dog walk at Sutton Park, Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham.

Among them were Tibetan terriers Nima and Sashi from Hadley Heath, near Droitwich, with their owners Louise Brooks and Mark Weaver.

She said: “We took part as we enjoy bringing our dogs to Sutton Park and it’s a good opportunity to support a wonderful cause.”

The event raised over £5,330 so far which will help to provide palliative care for children with life limiting and life threatening conditions, through short breaks in the charity’s hospices, including the hospice in Bath Road, Worcester.

The money will also help to fund support for families via a dedicated team of community workers.
