A THIEF broke into a family-owned bike shop on Ombersley Road to steal BMXs, scooters and equipment.

The burglar is thought to have returned several time to steal items from Transfer between 1.40am and 3am on Tuesday.

The owners of the independent shop has appealed for people who spot the bikes and scooters on sale to contact police.

A statement on its Facebook page said: "Transfer are very sad to announce that during the early hours of [Tuesday] morning a burglary at there premises occurred - where bikes, scooters and parts were stolen.

"The bikes are unique to Transfer and cannot be bought anywhere else in Worcester - pictures to follow shortly - they do have unique identity marks not noticeable to the naked eye.

"Anyone being offered a new bmx/scooter/parts please contact Worcester Police.".

A man forced his way into the front of the shop and stole several items including a Blank Spirit BMX bike, a black Social Level BMX bike with purple wheels and a pair of Snafu Oil Slick bike pedals.

An MGP VX4 Extreme scooter, an MGP VX4 Team Edition scooter, a pair of scooter wheels and two Vocal Halflink bike chains were also stolen.

It is thought that the thief entered and exited the shop several times during the burglary, taking items with him each time.

He is described as a man of a slim build, wearing a baseball cap, jeans and a jumper.

Police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious behaviour around the area during this time, or anyone who may have been offered these items for sale.
