A FRUIT and vegetable supplier from Ross-on-Wye has been recognised alongside the likes of Mary Berry and Tom Kerridge in a national paper's food awards.
Amanda Stradling at Veggies Galore in Walford won the best producer category in the 2015 Observer Food Monthly Awards.
The awards were announced in London on Thursday, October 15 and are voted for by both Observer readers and a judging panel.
Claudia Winkleman and Jay Rayner co-hosted this year’s celebrations and were joined by Observer Food Monthly editor Allan Jenkins, who introduced the evening.
Mary Berry won the celebrated lifetime achievement award for her outstanding contribution to culinary arts and Michelin-starred chef Tom Kerridge came top in the best food personality category.
Observer Food Monthly editor Allan Jenkins said Veggies Galore was an inspirational fresh vegetable producer. He added: "With six winners coming from outside the capital, London better look out.”
