A MAN has admitted drug driving after smoking cannabis.
Ben Hunt, 25, of Bransford Road, Bransford, near Worcester, admitted driving his Landrover Discovery on the A449 Powick when he appeared before magistrates in Worcester on Thursday.
A blood test revealed 4.1µg of Delta-9-tetrahydrocannibinol (THC), twice the limit of 2µg.
Kulbir Paul, prosecuting, said Hunt was stopped at 5.40am on July 28 as part of a standard police check.
Hunt, representing himself, said: "It is what it is I'm afraid. I smoked into the late hours/early hours of the morning. I was on my way to work. That's all I can really say."
Magistrates fined him £275, disqualified him from driving for the minimum period of 12 months. He was further ordered to pay a £135 contribution towards prosecution costs.
