A MAN has been charged with having an axe in the city centre.
Martin Coffey, 21, was charged with possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and for the use of threatening, abusive and insulting behaviour.
He was given conditional bail at Redditch Magistrates Court today (Tuesday October 25) and is not allowed to enter Worcester.
He was arrested in The Cross yesterday (Monday October 24) afternoon following an incident.
Police had retrieved an axe from the scene.
Coffey, of Hurcott Road, Kidderminster has also been told he has to live and sleep at his home address.
He is due in Worcester Crown Court on Wednesday November 23.
