A POST Office will re-open in a south Herefordshire village at the end of the month.

Wormelow has been without a Post Office since 2014 when the village shop closed, but will re-open at the newly re-built shop at the same site on January 26 at 1pm.

Carrot and Wine Stores Ltd opened last June and has successfully applied to re-open a Post Office on site, which will be open for longer hours than before.

Opening hours will be Monday to Sunday from 7am to 9pm which will be more than double the branch’s previous opening hours.

The re-opening will be part of a major modernisation programme across the Post Office network designed to make it easier for customers to do business through longer opening hours and modern open plan environments.

During public consultation the Post Office service received 18 individual responses from customers all in support.

Access at the new premises will be via level access and as part of the access improvements there will also be a new door at the entrance.
