STUDENTS at Dyson Perrins Academy will be bringing back the 50s, as seen through the lens of the late 70s when they stage their production of Grease next week.

It is 40 years since the smash-hit movie hit the cinemas and wowed audiences and the show has certainly lost no appeal at all; in fact it seems more popular than ever.

Steph Vipond of the school said: "This is definitely shaping up to be a successful and thoroughly entertaining run of performances. Students have been working extremely hard since last November rehearsing for the show and are looking forward to showcasing their work.

"The cast is led by Josh Hughes as Danny Zuko and Robyn McCollum as Sandy, and they are supported by many other talented students, both on stage and as technical and backstage crew. There is also a large and enthusiastic chorus who are all thoroughly enjoying the process.

"The students would love to entertain you and transport you back to the late 1950s so be sure to get your tickets before they sell out."

The show will be running from Tuesday to Friday, March 20 to 23, at 7pm. Tickets are available from reception 01684 564751 and cost £5 for adults and £4 for children/students from Wednesday-Friday but are slightly cheaper on the opening night, Tuesday £4 for adults and £3 for children/students.
