STUDENTS and staff at Parkside Middle School are celebrating another 'good' Ofsted result.

Following a short inspection in July, a report published last week confirmed that the school's leadership team had maintained the good quality of education since Ofsted last visited in 2014.

The inspector found that there had even been improvement in some areas, particularly the quality of teaching, curriculum and pupils' progress.

The letter to headteacher Neil Mills reads: "You have worked very well with your fellow senior leaders to develop a positive, ambitious and successful ethos throughout Parkside Middle School.

"Staff are hardworking and enthusiastic and show great care for individual pupils. The very positive relationships that exist between staff and pupils in the school are central to its success."

It continues to say that pupils enjoy coming to school, are well-mannered and polite, and that their level of attendance is above average.

The inspector found governance and safeguarding to be effective, and described the school spirit as 'inclusive and welcoming'.

The report goes on to say: "External tests show that most pupils arrive at the school working at, or below, the standard expected for their age in reading, writing and mathematics. By the end of year eight, nearly all pupils achieve standards above or well above those expected for their age."

Head teacher Mr Mills said: "We’re delighted with the outcome of the inspection and that the exemplary behaviour of the pupils and their outstanding progress was rightly recognised.

"The report highlights that the school has continued to improve and we’re understandably proud of this.

"We work very closely with the other middle schools across the town as part of the Bromsgrove Middle Schools Learning Partnership and together we offer an exceptionally high standard of education to parents and carers."
