A 50-YEAR-old man from Ross-on-Wye died of an unknown cause.
Nicholas Lewis lived alone in Henry Street and was found dead by his parents on his 50th birthday.
A post mortem examination could not ascertain a cause of death.
The inquest at Herefordshire Coroner's Court heard Mr Lewis had to adjust his hours at work as a sales assistant at Screwfix prior to his death due to nerve-ending pain in his feet and side.
Police investigated and concluded there was no third party involvement.
Coroner Mark Bricknell said: "This is either a natural event which we cannot find the cause for or it is the consequence of a fall which is either caused by his medical condition or an accident."
He recorded a narrative conclusion that the cause of death was unascertained but not suspicious.
