A NEW fundraising group has been formed by The Greig Hall Action Group.

The new group, Friends Of The Greig Hall, Alcester, will be raising funds for the potential re-opening of the Greig Memorial Hall.

There will be an official opening of a fundraising shop, Home2Home this weekend.

On the future of the Greig Memorial Hall, Sheilagh Goode, from the group, said: "There is a lot of work ahead, but we are confident with the support and help of the community we can return this wonderful asset back into use for the people of Alcester.

"Obviously, funding will play a major part in the re-opening of the hall, with that in mind, we have been fortunate enough to secure premises to open our first,

Friends of the Greig Hall Home2Home fundraising shop."

Situated in the Hopkins Precinct, Alcester, it will specialise in donated furniture items, home decor, soft furnishings, as well as small electrical items and bric-a-brac.

Sheilagh said: "With the support of the people of Alcester, the shop will raise the much needed funds to assist with the reopening and refurbishment of the hall.

"But we urgently require donations of quality furniture, home and household items for re-sale. We also require volunteers to help in the shop, even a few hours would be greatly appreciated.

"And we would be extremely grateful for help from any owners of large vehicles/vans to assist with collection and deliveries."

She added that the group is also after help from any local companies and businesses willing to donate any resalable items, to help with publicly, sponsorship, or any financial assistance and donations.

The new fundraising shop will open on Saturday, December 8 at 11am.
