SANTA has been spotted in Redditch, the Advertiser can reveal.

Father Christmas has been spotted out and about in the town, entertaining the young (and young at heart).

It is part of Redditch Round Table's annual charity Santa Collection which sees the group help Santa visit different parts of the town in the run up to Christmas Day.

One excited resident, who didn't want to be named, said it was great seeing the big man.

"The kids we're loving it and so were the adults," she said.

"We've been waiting for him to come to us and we weren't disappointed. It's a great thing that the Round Table members do - we're lucky to have them in the town."

The group is still inviting families from across the town to see Santa, and will be out until next Thursday, December 20.

Group chairman Daniel Buckley said: “Last year with Santa was great, despite the poor weather at times we managed to raise a lot of money for the community, we were also able to try a few new routes, some of which worked and some didn’t.

"As long as the weather holds up for us we think this year could be our biggest yet."

He added: “We love seeing the excited faces all along our routes, our previous Santa sleigh’s have helped us raise much-needed funds for local charities and we are keen to continue to show our support and this year do even more.

"We can’t wait to bring Santa to a street near you, soon."
