HEREFORDSHIRE is included in a Met Office yellow warning of snow and ice for tomorrow.

The Met Office issued the warning for between 9am tomorrow and 9am on Sunday.

They said there will be periods of freezing rain leading to some dangerous travelling conditions.

Temperatures in Hereford will reach a maximum of seven degrees but not until the evening and it will feel a lot colder.

At the moment the Met Office is not predicting a white Christmas for Hereford.

They said: "However, there is a small chance of a colder and shower spell developing during Christmas week."

All priority roads in the county have been gritted.

Herefordshire Council says: "We have crews on call 24 hours a day who can react quickly to extreme weather conditions.

"Generally, all planned early morning treatments are completed before 7.30am and during periods of prolonged freezing or snow we aim to carry out gritting or snow clearing, whenever possible, on priority routes.

"Council-run public car parks in Hereford city and the market towns will be treated when surface temperatures are expected to remain below freezing for 24 hours, or if more ice is predicted."
