AN EIGHT-year-old walked from Hay Bluff to Longtown to raise money for a charity which provided a wheelchair for his brother.
Leonard Ray from Weobley walked about nine miles and raised £105 for the British Red Cross, as well as £150 for his school, Canon Pyon.
The Red Cross lent a wheelchair to his younger brother, Josef, when he broke his leg playing football.
If you need a wheelchair for a ‘short-term’ ailment (officially, anything lasting less than six months), then no official body has responsibility to offer help, which is where the Red Cross steps in.
