A MALE voice choir has launched a drive for new members who from Blockley and the surrounding area.
The Blockley Blokes Choir' new members social event takes place from 7.30pm in the Jubilee Hall, Park Road, Blockley on Thursday, January 17, at 7.30pm.
Potential recruits can listen to a few songs by the present choir and have a chat with the musical director Martin Dear.
And it doesn't matter if you're unable to read music, as most of the choir are in the same position.
People who go along for the evening will hear a wide selection from male voice classics to musical favourites, from Russian to Welsh, even a bit of Maori.
Rehearsals are (mainly) in the Little Village Hall on Bell Bank in Blockley on Thursday evenings between 7.30pm and 9pm from September to the end of May, with concerts in Blockley and the area several times during the year.
As the numbers grow, the choir will be able to be more ambitious with its musical challenges.
