TRAFFIC bosses are advising motorists to seek an alternative route if possible while road works are taking place at Kingswinford Cross.
South Staffordshire Water are currently undertaking works on Moss Grove at the junction of Summer Hill - with temporary
traffic signals in place from 7am to 7pm each day.
Highways chiefs say the works have been scheduled for the school half-term when traffic flows are significantly lighter and the signals are being manually controlled to minimise congestion.
But network manager Andrew Sumner said: "Unfortunately congestion in the area cannot be removed completely due to the extent and method of operation of the signals and we are receiving reports of delays in the area.
"We would advise all highway users to seek an alternative route whilst these works are taking place."
The works are expected to finish on Thursday (February 21).
