LUDLOW Town Council has plans to improve a beauty spot in the town.

The Linney Riverside Park is a very popular family friendly recreation area by the river Teme.

Facilities include a jetty for canoes, a range of children’s play equipment, grasses areas and handy picnic benches. There is also a small car park on the site.

“It is anticipated that works will begin in March to be completed by July 2019,” said Ludlow Town Clerk Gina Wilding.

“The Linney is a beautiful part of Ludlow, and the town council staff are busy throughout the year. Staff have recently undertaken works with specialist contractors to repair and replace items of play equipment ready for the spring.” Mark Clarke, chair of the Town Council’s services committee, said that the improvements will be welcome.

“It is great news for everyone, that works to upgrade and enhance the public toilet facilities at Linney Riverside Park will happen this year,” he said.

“The refurbishment of the public toilets is hopefully the beginning of a longer project to improve the facilities for families at the Linney.”
