LEOMINSTER Library will undergo a £50,000 refurbishment.

The four-week refurbishment, which will start at the end of this month, is the first major works since the building was opened in 1993.

There will be a refresh to the general decoration, including new shelving and an improved children’s area.

Space will also be created for more public access PCs, a new gallery space and a section with local publications available for sale.

Library staff have endeavoured to keep a reservation collection and item return service available to customers while the main building is closed to the public for safety reasons.

From March 25 to April 6, customers can return books or collect reserved books from the library foyer.

While from April 8 the whole site will be closed to the public, but a drop off box will be available to return items. Issued items, such as books and DVDs, will have an extended return date until the building reopens.

The library will fully reopen to the public on April 25.
