The Tour Series will be returning to Redditch tomorrow (Thursday, May 9) with hundreds of riders speeding around the town for the eighth consecutive year.

This will mean a series of road closures will need to take place for the duration of the event.

Jon Fraser, Worcestershire County Council Highways, said: “The Redditch Tour Series is one of the most popular and busiest events of the year in Worcestershire. In order for the race to take place and riders to access the course, a number of key roads in the town will need to be closed on race day.

"We appreciate the disruption this may cause to people’s general travel plans on the day, so we would ask people to check the closure information and plan ahead.”

The closures below will run from 5am to 6.30am on May 9 and then again from 2pm on May 9 until midnight.

Access will be available for residents and businesses only between 6.30am to 2pm on May 9.

o Prospect Hill (lower section)

o Birmingham Road

o Clive Road

o Hewell Road

o Prospect Hill “on” sliproad to Redditch Ringway

Gloucester Close, Melen Street, Mill Street, Abbey Road and Pioneer Close will also not be accessible at the above times.

The below roads will be closed in both directions from 9.15am on May 9 until 5am on Friday, May 10:
