A 15-year-old boy was robbed and threatened with a knife in a Quarry Bank park.

Police were called just before 8.30pm on Tuesday May 7 to Stevens Park to reports of a robbery.

It is believed a group of boys approached a 15-year-old and demanded his phone and police say it is thought the group were armed with a knife.

No injuries were reported in the incident.

Staff at nearby school Thorns Collegiate Academy took to social media to urge students to be vigilant.

A Facebook post from the school read: "It has been brought to our attention that there was an incident at Stevens Park, Quarry Bank last night, where a handful of youngsters were threatened and had their mobile phones taken from them. West Midlands Police are investigating the incident. We urge our students, and members of the local community, to be vigilant when out walking."
