THE sun shone down as visitors enjoyed the fun at Primrose Hospice’s Summer Fete on Saturday.
More than 1,000 people visited the hospice in St Godwalds Road, Bromsgrove, to enjoy stalls, activities, food and drink.
They helped to raise more than £5,500 for the hospice which provides free support for people with life-limiting conditions living in north east Worcestershire and their families.
Guests watched performances by Merrymaker, Bromsgrove Rock School, Bromsgrove Rock Choir, Primrose Choir and solo singer Meg as well as dances by Stage Door Dance Academy.
Young and old were amazed by Magic by Charlie, enjoyed learning more about bees as well as attempted to win a wheelbarrow of booze, chocolate house and a hot air balloon trip for two.
There was also a short service of remembrance led by the hospice’s chaplain Keith Judson which was held in the hospice’s courtyard.
Emma Williams, fundraising manager at Primrose Hospice, said: “It was a fantastic day and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves.
“We can’t believe over 1,000 people came and hopefully left with some happy memories, lots of prizes and purchases as well as a better idea of what happens at their local hospice.
“We are thrilled everyone was so generous and helped to raise £5,500 for people living in their community with a life-limiting condition.”
