REDDITCH Borough Council tenants are being urged to let officers know if they change their emergency contact details.

From mobile phone numbers to e-mail addresses, the council needs to know when these are updated so they can get in touch in an emergency.

The council’s executive member for housing, Cllr Craig Warhurst, said: “When we sign new tenants we request emergency contact details, which are critical to enable the Council to support the tenant within their home.

“As the landlord we are often called out to homes for a range of things including small leaks, trapped cats and lost keys, to state only a few examples.

“If our tenants are not at home then we need to contact them straight away, which is impossible if we don’t have up-to-date contact details.”

People can update details, when necessary, by dropping into their locality office or e-mailing them.
