THIS summer's fete at Madresfield Court was a great success, with record numbers of people flocking to the historic home on the edge of Malvern on Saturday to enjoy the sunshine.

Organiser Tracy Williams said: "The sun was a huge factor in bringing out record numbers to our event having come on the back of a period of rain and flooding.

"We estimate about 3,000 people came to enjoy the fete, sampling the variety of food and drink on offer, taking a stroll around the stunning grounds and along the array of market stalls with examples of arts and craft from many local businesses.

"A variety of classic cars were on show with an exquisite Shelby AC Cobra being one of the highlights.

"The crowd were entertained by the wonderful Trevor Hill Birds of Prey display and Pirton Gun Dog team as well as music from the Malvern Chase Brass Band.

"It was a thoroughly enjoyable day which has raised much-needed funds to support the local community. A huge thank you to all the volunteers and sponsors of our event with special thanks to Wye Valley Brewery, Just For Pets and Worcestershire county councillor James O’Donnell."
