MORE THAN 60 tractors turned out in memory of a Herefordshire man to raise £1,100 for St Michael's Hospice on Sunday.
Graham Davies, from Ocle Pychard, near Bromyard, was an avid tractor run participant but sadly passed away last year aged 78.
It was a fitting tribute that a tractor run be organised in his memory together with his beloved Fordson Dexta with Lambourn cab which was took part.
Three friends, Ian Powell, James Barrell and Clive Huffer had the fundraising idea of a tractor run and got together with friends and family to organise the route and refreshments. Tractor drivers came from not only the immediate locality but also from Powys and Shropshire to support the cause.
Starting from Green Farm, Felton, the tractor drivers had a hearty breakfast before setting off on their tour of Herefordshire.
Having headed north down country lanes, the convey stopped at Sparrington Farm for dinner. It was here Paddy Nugent, from St Michael's Hospice, who gave a speech about the work of the hospice does and how it takes £5.4 million a year to run with 90% of donations coming from local sources.
