HEREFORD Fire Station will be opening its doors to the public on Saturday from 11am - 4pm for its annual open day.

The free event in St Owen's Street will run from 11am to 4pm and promises to be entertaining for all of the family.

There will be a wide range of fun-filled activities for everyone to enjoy including static displays and demonstrations where you can watch firefighters demonstrate how and what equipment they would use to rescue casualties.

There will also be safety advice and information from the Royal Life Saving Society, and from West Mercia Police.

Visitors will have the chance to take a first-hand look at the impressive equipment and vehicles at the station, including the Blood Bike, as well as meet the local firefighters, and ride on a fire engine.
