A TWO-vehicle crash closed a main road in Herefordshire for several hours last night.

A fire service spokesperson said crews from Leominster and Hereford were called to the crash at Bewdley Bank, near Hereford, at 7pm yesterday.

Firefighters released one person from their vehicle and assisted paramedics with trauma care.

The ambulance service confirmed that two ambulances, a paramedic officer and a doctor from the Mercia Accident Rescue Service were sent to the scene.

Medics treated two men and one woman for injuries that are not believed to be life threatening.

All three were taken to Hereford County Hospital by ambulance for further treatment.

A fourth person was assessed at the scene, but was uninjured.

The road was reopened at around 10.30pm.
