A CYCLIST suffered 'life threatening' injuries near Clent.

The cyclist was found in the middle of the road by a passing motorist with serious head injuries this morning (July 23).

Police say the cyclist was riding along Broome Lane, from Clent in the Hagley direction, at around 10.40am.

The cyclist, a man, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham where he was placed in an induced coma. His condition has been described as 'life threatening' by police.

Police now wish to speak to a BMW driver as a potential witness to the incident, as the passing motorist who found the cyclist noticed a black BMW travelling towards her before coming across the injured rider.

Officers are also appealing for any other witnesses that may have seen the cyclist and any vehicles on Broome Lane just prior to the incident happening to contact West Mercia Police on 101, quoting incident 218s of 230718.
