PUB games are many and varied but one inn in Kington can lay claim to hosting an event that is rather more strenuous than pool or skittles.
The Oxford Arms Hotel was the site for a speed shear and farmers from across the Midlands and Wales took to the stage of the pub to show off their skills.
This year’s contest was organised by Kington Young Farmers Club and again raised money for the air ambulance.
Will May beat runner-up Sam Jones and third-placed Jack Davies to take the junior title while Phil Prince won the intermediate section. Price finished ahead of Matt Rowlands and Chris Potter.
Meanwhile, Nick Jones was crowned seniors champion ahead of Owen Davies and Llewelyn Williams.
And the open winner was George Gilbert. He finished ahead of Nick Greaves and Owen Davies.
