THERE is just a few days left for people to have their say on Redditch Borough Council’s proposed new tenancy agreement, the contract that applies to anyone renting a home from the council.

The updated, clearer agreement is designed to set out and reinforce tenants’ rights and responsibilities.

Cllr Craig Warhurst, Redditch Borough Council’s portfolio holder for housing, said: “This is an important document and you don’t have to be a tenant to take part.

"I would encourage anyone with an interest in council housing or their community to take the opportunity to say whether you find it easy to follow and read, whether it was clear and helpful, and so on.

"Any issues people raise may then be ironed out before the council’s Executive Committee sits down to consider formally adopting it, set for October."

Cllr Matt Dormer, leader of the council, added: “Housing is just the latest area where the council is communicating more clearly than ever the simple, common sense rules that are in place for everyone’s benefit."

The survey closes at 9am on Monday, September 16.
